Mine Site Water Treatment Plant Inspection

Mine Water Treatment Plant Inspection

Multi-phase inspection of a Canadian mine water treatment plant supported transfer to provincial authority. Structural, mechanical, and electrical systems were assessed, with risks identified and remediation plans delivered for reliable operations.

Saturated Rock Fill Development

Saturated Rock Fill (SRF) Water Treatment

Saturated rock fill development project that implemented technology for long-term semi-passive water treatment. Installed and field-tested groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater injection and extraction wells. Conducted water quality analysis including nutrients and dissolved metals.

Permitting and Authorization Identification for Wave Powered Reverse Osmosis Desalination

Oneka Technologies created a Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Unit that desalinates sea water into fresh potable water using only kinetic energy of ocean waves to drive this entire process. A small solar panel on top of the buoy provides power to the controls and communication back to shore. With extensive water treatment expertise and a Barbados office, Integrated Sustainability was retained by Oneka Technologies to navigate the regulatory landscape and process for implementation of the Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Unit in Barbados.

Ammonia Sulphate Water Treatment Options Study

Conducted a study to determine treatment options for ammonium sulphate-impacted groundwater. Reviewed information, developed and ranked options, and created conceptual designs. Delivered a technical report with design sketches, mass and energy balances, risk assessments, and regulatory summaries.

Wastewater Containment Structures

Provided the siting, geotechnical investigation, preliminary/detailed engineering, regulatory package, procurement, and construction services required for 2 x 50,000 m3 saline water storage ponds in NE BC. Collected orthorectified imagery with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which was used to provide periodic excavation and fill volumes. Provided onsite QA/QC construction services. Successful in obtaining approval from BC Regulator. Implementation of an innovative outtake system.

Water Intake Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management

Integrated Sustainability was retained by the client to design a revised river intake that reduces the volume of sediment that is introduced into the raw water supply system. The revised system is to provide increased reliability and easier maintenance. The new design would need to be completed and submitted to receive regulatory approval within a condensed timeline.

SAGD Water Security Assessment & Planning

The client requested that Integrated Sustainability conduct a water risk assessment that included the evaluation of source water, water use, and associated water-related risks in relation to its operations and anticipated developments.

Produced Water Hub

The client requested that Integrated Sustainability transform an existing borrow pit into a Lined Water Storage Pond/Water Hub in northeast British Columbia. The Pond will be used to store a combination of hydraulic fracturing fluid (flowback) and make-up source water, which could include saline groundwater, freshwater, or a combination of the two.

Freshwater Containment Structure

Site investigation & assessment, detailed reservoir and associated infrastructure design, contractor tender services, and on-site construction management services
