Recommissioning a Mine Water Treatment Plant
Project Highlights
Integrated Sustainability was engaged to develop a plan to repair and recommission an existing water treatment plant at a legacy mine site. The water treatment plant was designed to address acid rock drainage and mine-influenced water.
Project Deliverables
- Conducted on-site troubleshooting and process optimization over five days, including sampling, bench-scale testing, and recommendations for chemical dosing adjustments.
- Developed of a comprehensive water treatment system optimization plan, assessing operational, economic, and environmental factors, with findings summarized in a technical memo.
- Supported optimizing instrumentation challenges during the plant start-up phase.
- Completed project within 2-3 weeks.
- Supplied long-lead equipment items to site and conducted a site assessment.
- Developed an execution plan for retrofitting the water treatment plant to operate efficiently at a target throughput of 40 cubic meters per hour.
