Water Treatment Plant Design, Commissioning, & Operations Support
Project Overview
Integrated Sustainability provided the design of treatment system upgrades,
followed by commissioning of a moving bed biofilm reactor to address nitrogen removal. Once operational, the team transitioned into continuous operations support, providing experienced personnel and engineering oversight to maintain treatment performance during high-flow conditions and reduce non-compliance risk.
Project Outcomes
- Delivered detailed design packages including block flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, structural assessments, process control narratives, and equipment specifications to support the retrofit and upgrade of the existing plant.
- Completed commissioning of the moving bed biofilm reactor system using simulated nitrogen loading and closed-loop treatment configurations, with real-time monitoring and adaptive decision-making tools.
- Installed and configured a cloud-based data management platform to support remote oversight, quality control, and performance optimization during commissioning and ongoing operations.
- Mobilized engineering staff and experienced operators to provide continuous support through the spring snowmelt season, enabling twenty-four-hour system availability and proactive discharge management.
- Developed a live commissioning plan and capacity-building program to support client operator onboarding and long-term self-sufficiency.
