The Challenge
Provide a means to repair the existing WAC Neutralization Tank, without requiring plant shutdown during the repair process.
The Result
Integrated Sustainability completed a study that investigated the water chemistry implications and system modifications required to neutralize the ion exchange regeneration wastewater and transfer it to the blowdown pond, or bypass the neutralization tank for a three week period while tank repairs will be completed. Proposed process changes to prevent or reduce the rate of corrosion of the tank in future were also investigated.
