SAGD Water Security Assessment & Planning

The client requested that Integrated Sustainability conduct a water risk assessment that included the evaluation of source water, water use, and associated water-related risks in relation to its operations and anticipated developments.

Source Water Treatment & Pipeline Study

Changing regulatory requirements surrounding the use of fresh water for Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) heavy oil extraction resulted in the need for this study. Through it, Integrated Sustainability was able to provide a quantitative comparison of the capital, operational and maintenance costs of all feasible water options, while validating the basis of design and the technical feasibility of pipeline transport and on-site water treatment.

Industrial Boiler Optimization Study

Evaluate the potential process advantages and operational issues associated with boiler “rifle tube” retrofits for an Industrial Water Treatment Plant. Moreover, it was critical to consider additional equipment required, and whether increased maintenance wold be needed.

Zero Lime Softening Engineering

Predict the quantity and types of solids that will form in the disposal tank and in downstream disposal dumps, pipeline, and disposal well at an operating SAGD Central Processing Facility.

SAGD Wastewater Process Optimization

A disposal formation was over pressurizing and impacting operational performance for SAGD operating facilities by limiting disposal volume. Integrated Sustainability was retained to both evaluate and recommend alternate disposal options and new technologies that could reduce liquid waste by enhancing process recycle and reuse.
