Hydrogeological Baseline Study
Project Highlights
Integrated Sustainability installed and tested a network of groundwater monitoring wells to establish baseline conditions and support long-term monitoring. Ten wells were constructed and screened in two fracture-dominated groundwater-bearing zones. Site testing included hydraulic conductivity estimates, water quality sampling, and aquifer response characterization.
Project Deliverables
- Installed 10 monitoring wells targeting two groundwater-bearing zones in fractured shale and sandstone.
- Completed well development, airlift purging, and packer or slug testing at each installation to confirm hydraulic response.
- Collected water samples for metals, hydrocarbons, nutrients, selenium speciation, and major ions across eight wells.
- Interpreted test results to identify horizontal flow patterns and anisotropy across the fractured zones.
- Recommended groundwater monitoring protocols aligned with joint provincial guidance and permit conditions.
- Delivered two technical reports outlining methodology, results, and long-term monitoring recommendations.
