Integrated Sustainability designed a contact water capture and sedimentation pond and supporting water management infrastructure to service coarse refuse material storage. Work included geotechnical investigation, stability modelling, and detailed earthworks and liner specifications.
Project Deliverables
- Completed geotechnical drilling and lab testing to define subsurface conditions, groundwater levels, and slope stability parameters.
- Prepared design recommendations for 3:1 slopes, compacted liner construction, and frost-resilient subgrade.
- Developed earthworks specifications for pond excavation, underdrains, access roads, and erosion control structures.
- Outlined compaction, fill sequencing, moisture targets, and cold-weather protocols for liners and backfill zones.
- Delivered geosynthetics specifications for liner systems, installation procedures, and quality assurance testing.
- Integrated ditch and channel designs to maintain positive flow from inflows to outlet.
- Provided quality assurance documentation and contractor submittal requirements for construction and commissioning.
