The Challenge
Integrated Sustainability was asked to evaluate source water from a different formation in order to reduce the pressure in this formation. This was done to mitigate risk associated with the increasing pressure on an existing disposal water aquifer.
The Result
Integrated Sustainability successfully identified that dissolved mineral levels were not a concern within the new formation. Integrated Sustainability used OLI chemical modelling software to study potential operational impacts and provided both short-term and long-term solution recommendations for the optimal blend and allocation of source waters between different operating facilities. The study results provided a useful guideline document for the clients’ operations team to mitigate precipitation and scaling issues.
