Active Water Treatment Options for Arsenic Removal
Project Highlights
Integrated Sustainability provided a cost estimate for an active water treatment process to remove arsenic. Proposed solution included hydroxide precipitation, iron co-precipitation, reverse osmosis, and ion exchange to meet environmental discharge criteria.
Project Deliverables
- Provided a cost estimate for an active treatment process to meet issued for construction arsenic target
- Provided technical and operational limitations and challenges that need to be considered for each solution (e.g., maintenance requirements, footprints, constructability, etc.)
- Considered water treatment from a site-wide perspective for both the operational and closure phases
- Presented both active and passive water treatment options which considered the long-term liability and post closure requirements of different treatment options
