The Challenge
Seasonal shortages of quality water are currently impacting the region’s agricultural producers. Continued climate change impacts are expected to result in increased challenges related to both agricultural water demand and supply. Execution of strategies to support adaptation to climate change impacts is required to improve the water system’s resiliency to increasing temperatures and decreasing seasonal water supply.
The Result
Our team is advancing a water supply and demand assessment to understand the current and future agricultural water demands, modelled water supply based on current and potential supply sources, and the capacity of the surface water supply system to support water conveyance under increased demand. Following the supply and demand assessment, improvement options will be evaluated and recommendations provided on recommended next steps.
