Federal Funding Announced for Carbon Capture Technology Expansion
The federal government announced an investment of up to $137 million from the Canada Growth Fund to Svante, contributing to its new carbon capture and removal filter manufacturing facility currently under construction.
Other key features include an announcement from the BC Energy Regulator (BC-ER) regarding the completion of the Halfway River First Nation (HRFN) Landscape Planning Pilot (LPP), aimed to balance Treaty rights, environmental restoration, and responsible energy development. Additionally, BC-ER released guidance for energy companies following the release of the Gundy Complex HV1-C Plan, developed under the Blueberry River First Nations Implementation Agreement.
As Alberta continues to experience drought and water shortages throughout the province, updates to the provincial Drought Response Plan have been released. Water licence holders should continue to monitor water levels and flow before and during planned diversion events.
