Federal Budget 2024: Fairness for Every Generation Released
The Government of Canada released Budget 2024: Fairness for Every Generation, which aims to attract more investment in the net-zero economy by increasing economic investment tax credits, investing in research grants to provide good jobs for younger generations, and ensuring Indigenous Peoples share in this growth.
Furthermore, the Government of Alberta announced a series of new water-sharing agreements between the largest and oldest water licensees in southern Alberta to voluntarily reduce their water use if severe drought conditions develop this spring or summer.
In addition to these developments, the BC Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship is acting on drought preparedness as a significantly higher risk of drought conditions looms for the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
