As a Summer Student, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients. You will have the opportunity to expand your career by working on exciting and high-profile water, waste, and energy projects.
Your experience in the industry and/or consulting, as well as your project and people skills will enable you to make a difference in our industry and inspire new and better ways to implement engineering and water management solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Expected to undertake assignments across the business to support ongoing opportunities and to set a strong foundation for understanding the business and industries.
- Perform site visits and conduct fieldwork with a focus on safety.
- Support process engineering work on projects ranging from conceptual studies through to detailed design.
- Assist with the development of engineering deliverables including:
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Heat and material balances
- Design basis documents
- Equipment sizing calculations
- Technical reports and studies
- Assist with proposal and estimate developments as required.
- Support the evaluation and selection of process equipment including pumps, tanks, valves, and treatment systems.
- Grammatical/formatting review of technical documents/reports and proposals.
- Assist with office management and any other duties as required.
- Help organize and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
Position Qualifications:
- Working towards your Bachelor’s degree in chemical or process engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized University (master’s or other graduate degree would be considered an asset).
- Relevant engineering experience in water treatment, mining, industrial processing, or related industries.
- Eligibility for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) and/or Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Legally able to work in Canada

- Basic understanding of water and wastewater treatment principles and aqueous chemistry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical engineering capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or process simulation tools is considered an asset.
- Positive attitude, strong initiative, and eagerness to grow professionally.
