Site-Wide Water Treatment Strategy and Best Achievable Technology Assessment

Integrated Sustainability - Industrial Water Treatment Services and Equipment
project details

Comparative Screening of Biological and Chemical Treatment Technologies for Mine Life Planning

project overview

Integrated Sustainability developed a site-wide water treatment strategy through a staged Best Achievable Technology (BAT) assessment. This included identifying and screening treatment technologies, ranking them by effectiveness, and aligning them with mine life stages. Our work informed feasibility planning, supported environmental assessment deliverables, and integrated risk-based decision-making through collaborative workshops and adaptive updates to the strategy.

project deliverables

  • Outlined sludge handling, brine treatment, and zero-liquid discharge concepts for long-term compliance.
  • Identified and screened water treatment technologies using site-specific criteria.
  • Ranked options for each water source and compiled a site-wide treatment strategy.
  • Updated BAT and strategy documents to align with final water chemistry and feasibility timelines.
  • Participated in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and planning workshops to integrate risk and closure considerations.
  • Provided treatment system sizing and output estimates to support pre-feasibility design.
