Integrated Sustainability assessed marine and coastal resources along Saint Lucia’s southeast coast to support sustainable management and biodiversity conservation. Project goals included establishing marine protected areas and improving ecosystem resilience. The execution integrated data-driven decision-making to enhance long-term coastal resource management.

• Improved sustainable management planning for the southeast coast of St. Lucia by incorporating biodiversity conservation considerations for marine and coastal ecosystems.
• Evaluated sustainable management approaches for mangroves and coastal ecosystems that integrate biodiversity conservation at a regional scale.
• Recommended the establishment of at least one Marine Protected Area (MPA) within the project area, supported by collected data and environmental assessments.
• Developed management plan elements and conservation strategies for the proposed MPA and surrounding coastal environments.
• Provided recommendations on innovative and sustainable financing mechanisms to support conservation initiatives and economic development in the southeast coastal region of St. Lucia.
