Municipal Freshwater Water Reservoir Feasibility Assessments

Integrated Sustainability - Industrial Water Treatment Services and Equipment
project details

3,000,000 m3 Freshwater Storage Feasibility Evaluation

project overview

Integrated Sustainability evaluated the feasibility of 4 municipal freshwater storage reservoirs, with capacities up to 3,000,000 m3. The project involved site assessments, conceptual designs, dam failure risk classifications, flood studies, and a consideration of run-of-river electricity generation.

project deliverables

  • Conducted comprehensive field investigations and visual assessments to evaluate feasibility and identify potential hazards at four municipal freshwater storage reservoir sites.
  • Developed conceptual engineering designs for reservoirs and associated stockpiles at each site, with capacities of approximately 1–3 million m³ and embankments up to 15 m high.
  • Performed high-level dam failure classifications to assess risk for each proposed site.
  • Designed and applied a risk-based Multi-Criteria Analysis (MCA) framework to rank sites based on conceptual design, environmental considerations, and cost estimates.
  • Completed flood inundation studies and evaluated consequences of failure for each site based on conceptual designs.
