Mobile Water Treatment Plant for a Remote Mine

Integrated Sustainability designed a mobile water treatment plant for a remote mine in British Columbia. The system was designed to remove metals, arsenic, ammonia, and selenium, with a capacity of 4,320 m3/d. The plant was designed to be air-lifted to the site, addressing logistical challenges.

project deliverables

  • Treatment parameters focused on: metals & arsenic removal, ammonia removal, and included a contingency for selenium removal.
  • Considerations accounted for a lack of access road and air lifting the water treatment plant into a remote site.
  • Customized solutions for varying inlet characteristics to achieve a maximum treated outlet of 4,320 m3/d.
  • Major process equipment included tubular filtration, chemical injection packages, sulfide precipitation & ferric co-precipitation reactors, and a breakpoint chlorination system.
  • Delivered in partnership with BQE Water.
