project details

Technology Readiness & Performance Gap Assessment for Expanded Mine Water Treatment Targets

project overview

Integrated Sustainability was engaged to update a previous best achievable technology assessment to reflect current site conditions and expanded contaminant targets. The work evaluated existing water treatment system components against updated performance objectives and readiness criteria. Where treatment gaps were identified, new technology readiness assessments and maturation plans were developed, positioning the system for continued compliance under evolving regulatory requirements.

project deliverables

  • Reviewed 11 priority contaminants and associated site performance targets to evaluate treatment system capability and compliance readiness.
  • Assessed existing biological treatment, clarification, and filtration systems against established readiness criteria to determine operational suitability.
  • Identified treatment gaps for select contaminants and prepared technology readiness assessments to address identified deficiencies.
  • Developed technology maturation plans for lower-readiness treatment processes in alignment with provincial regulatory guidance.
  • Evaluated system alignment with permitted treatment technologies and outlined next steps for design integration and implementation.
  • Delivered an updated technical assessment report and supporting appendices to support permitting activities and operational planning.
