project details

Water Treatment Configuration Study for Cogeneration Expansion and Variable Flow Demands

project overview

Integrated Sustainability was engaged to assess water treatment options for a cogeneration facility expansion. We completed a design-level study of treatment configurations for varying flow demands. The study evaluated alternate technologies, developed a conceptual design basis, and produced cost and performance estimates for three process scenarios. Findings supported internal decision-making and provided technical guidance for scaling the water treatment system to match long-term development plans.

project deliverables

  • Defined conceptual treatment processes for 3 separate water demand scenarios.
  • Reviewed existing infrastructure, flow data, and site constraints to establish treatment objectives and inform system layout development.
  • Prepared mass balances, conceptual block flow diagrams, and major equipment sizing calculations.
  • Developed capital and operating cost estimates for the proposed treatment alternatives.
  • Evaluated partial-load operation, system turndown capacity, and projected carbon footprint impacts for each treatment scenario.
  • Compiled findings into a technical memorandum outlining preferred treatment options and recommendations for subsequent project phases.
