Integrated Sustainability developed an updated closure and reclamation plan for a historical gold mine under care and maintenance since 2015. The scope addressed regulatory gaps, water treatment strategies, and emerging geotechnical risks while integrating Indigenous feedback.

• Prepared a comprehensive update to the mine closure plan to address changes in ownership, site conditions, and evolving regulatory requirements.
• Defined closure objectives focused on long-term landform stability, forest ecosystem recovery, and protection of aquatic environments.
• Updated site-wide closure cost estimates and reclamation security bond calculations.
• Developed a phased post-closure water treatment strategy transitioning from active treatment systems to semi-passive treatment approaches.
• Identified and incorporated key geotechnical and environmental risks requiring mitigation, including seepage control measures and tailings stabilization strategies.
• Completed a desktop study of Indigenous land use to support future closure planning, engagement strategies, and culturally informed design considerations.
