Integrated Sustainability was retained to retrofit pre-treatment infrastructure at Barbados’ capital wastewater plant, handling 4,000,000 gpd. Work focused on designing and installing automated screening systems without interrupting existing operations.

• Completed site take-offs and prepared as-built documentation of the existing pre-treatment system.
• Custom-designed headworks screening equipment with manufacturers to match legacy infrastructure.
• Installed 10mm and 6mm in-channel screens and a 6mm truck receiving screen with integrated washing, compacting, and bagging functions.
• Excavated and removed a 40-year-old 20” concrete pipe and installed a new cement-lined carbon steel pipe to tie into the upgraded system.
• Carried out confined space installation of medium screen within a live three-storey wet well using self-contained breathing apparatus.
• Removed non-functional legacy equipment without impacting active treatment processes.
• Integrated all new components into the operating system without requiring full shutdown.
