The Challenge
To obtain a Term License for diversion of 5 million cubic meter per year from Iosegun Lake and design infrastructure including a raw water intake, water pipeline, and water hub. Iosegun Lake is a 13 square kilometre lake in northwestern Alberta with existing water license holders. The Term License Application had to show how water diversion would be adaptively managed to effectively meet operational needs and environmental limitations.
The Result
Integrated Sustainability worked closely with the client and Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) to navigate through the new play-based regulation framework and the use of stringent in-stream flow needs requirements for the ecosystem.
Term licence application is currently under review.
