The Challenge
Integrated Sustainability was asked to complete a dam safety analysis and assessment on the embankments of a water storage pond. This analysis and assessment was completed in order to obtain approval for construction and use of the pond embankments (i.e. dam structures), and to classify the pond embankments in order to determine the design and safe operational requirements.
The Result
Integrated Sustainability successfully completed the dam safety analysis and assessment which included consideration of risk to potentially impacted populations, environmental and cultural values, and infrastructure and economics. The results of the analysis determined that the pond embankments would need to be classified as “Significant”. The assessment supported that the design was sufficient to meet the requirements of this classification.
